TESTING
How do I test it?
Leave the area and make sure the sensor does not see any motion for at least 5 minutes.
When someone enters the area, the corresponding Zone Light will flash briefly.
MOUNTING
Where should it be positioned?
The sensor should be placed 6'-7' from the floor.
This should be placed where motion will cross the field of vision.
Do not place the sensor facing HVAC vents, or other sources of heat.
This sensor is intended to be used in a closed, indoor environment.
Which side is up and which side is down?
The flat side should be on the top and the rounded side should be on the bottom.
Reference the image as shown in the illustration.
Can I put an Indoor Motion Detector in a storage container?
We do not advise putting any sensor inside of a storage container. The signal is not guaranteed to get back to the base unit.
If you need motion detection in a storage container, please refer to our Storage Container Motion Sensor.
Frequently Asked Questions
MORE
I am waving my hand in front of the Motion Detector. Why isn't it responding?
It is likely in sleep mode. The sensor needs to not see anything for at least 5 minutes before it "wakes up" and will transmit new signals.
What is the battery life?
The average battery life is 2-3 years.
If the sensor is in a high-activity area, the battery life will be greatly reduced.
What kind of range does it have / how far does it see?
Can sunlight or headlights trip this sensor?
Yes. However unlikely, this sensor can be tripped if light is directed straight into the eye of the motion detector.
