Why does my motion sensor not seem to see me?

All battery-powered motions have a Sleep Mode. On the Container Motion Detector, the Sleep Mode is normally five minutes. The motion will "wake up" after seeing no movement for five minutes.

Can I turn off the little red light?

Yes. There is a jumper inside the motion detector that can be moved to disable the red light.

Does the transmitter box have to be outside the metal box?

Yes, we highly recommend that the transmitter box of your Container Motion Detector be located on the outside of the metal box you are protecting. Otherwise, the signal being transmitted from your Container Motion may not reach the base unit.

The transmitter box is weather-rated; the motion detector is not.

Why does it stay tripped?

The connections on the cord and caps may be loose. The reset button could also have not been pressed, or the tamper connectors could be loose.

Verify that you have a working 9V battery in the motion detector, and a working 3V battery in the transmitter.

Verify that all cable connections are secure, the motion detector is completely assembled, and the magnet and contact align on the inside of the transmitter box.
